A Rich, Gentle Cream for Anti-Aging and Hydrating Dry or Sensitive Skin
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
As you may have figured out, Drunk Elephant is one of my favorite skincare brands. Drunk Elephant products are well formulated, contain no harmful ingredients or fragrances and are well packaged. And the Lala Retro Whipped Cream is another hit in their lineup. Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream is chock-full of hydrating and anti-aging ingredients with claims of plumping lackluster skin and addressing peeling and patchy dryness. Let’s see how it stacks up!
Key Ingredients:
- African-Oil Blend: Marula, Mongongo, Baobab, Kalahari Melon, Ximenia, and Passionfruit oils provide antioxidants, moisture, rejuvenation, and brightening benefits.
- Ceramides AP, EOP, and NP: Plant-derived ceramides that soothe and maintain moisture balance while protecting against water loss.
- Phytosphingosine: A plant-derived lipid with powerful soothing and restorative properties.
- Fermentoil Green Tea Seed Extract: Offers moisturizing, antioxidant, and nourishing benefits.
- Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer: Deeply penetrates the skin, providing excellent hydration and reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
- pH level of 5.2: Ideal pH balance for a moisturizer is between 5-7
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream, like all Drunk Elephant products, is formulated without irritants, Phthalates, Parabens and other harmful ingredients.
Packaging: Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream comes in an air-tight pump jar, ensuring the cream stays fresh and free from contaminants. As you know, open jar packaging is basically a disqualifier for me. Ingredients need to stay air-tight to keep their freshness and maintain the right PH balance.
My Experience:
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream is one of my go-to moisturizers for its exceptional anti-aging properties, gentleness and balanced hydration. After using it, my skin feels noticeably smoother and more moisturized. This moisturizer works wonders in combating peeling or patchy dryness, after just one night any peeling or patchy dryness I have is improved. I also love that the Lala Retro Whipped Cream is gentle and free from additional exfoliants. This means I can use it along stronger serums and exfoliants and after a chemical peel or micro needling session. It’s great to partner with retinol in the winter months. And this never leaves my skin feeling greasy, I can even use it in the summer or at the beach! The only reason I knock it down to a 4 out of 5 stars is the higher price tag. At $62 a jar it is on the higher end of the spectrum for a standalone moisturizer.
