Hey! I’m Caroline, a working mom of two based in Charlotte, NC. Back when I was 20, I was diagnosed with PCOS and Insulin Resistance. An unfortunately all too common diagnosis for young women and a precursor for diabetes. Based on my Doctor’s advice and the book “Sugar Busters”, I made the decision to take my health seriously and completely overhauled my diet and lifestyle. I moved to a strict low carb diet with absolutely no sugar. Over the years my low carb lifestyle has evolved into mostly Paleo, some Keto and even flirting with the Carnivore diet. Along with dietary changes, I started to incorporate healthy living into my entire routine, fitness, skincare, sleep and overall “self care”. All these things add up to good health. 

As a working mom, I’m all about keeping it simple yet effective. Busy lives need uncomplicated solutions, and I’m here to make your wellness journey (and mine!) a smooth ride. This is why I created Beautiful Hacks, a go-to hub for practical wellness tips. Whether you’re looking for low carb recipes, easy fitness routines, or in-depth reviews of clean beauty and skincare products, I’ve got you covered.

My low carb recipes are mostly paleo and grain-free. Every once and a while I will incorporate some diary and whole grains, especially in recipes for the whole family. One of the best ways to commit to your own healthy lifestyle is to get your family on board. Healthy recipes for children can be hard to find and typically not that enjoyable for anyone. I’ll share my tricks for getting kids to enjoy healthy food and share some low carb desserts that you and your kids will love!  Along with recipes I am trying to focus on hitting the right macro nutrients every day. I typically follow a high protein diet macro, I have found this to be the best macro for weight loss, especially as I age and building muscle gets harder and harder.

But wellness isn’t just about what you eat – it’s also about how you move, how you sleep, dreaded cortisol levels (stress hormone), how you feel and let’s face it, how you looks matters too. I’ve curated easy fitness routines and tips, alongside lifestyle hacks that help you hit all your health goals and keep cortisol levels (aka stress) down. And so we don’t leave the house with wrecked hair and bad skin, I will share my favorite products, beauty hacks and skincare tips to help keep your skin looking young.
